111 Set To Compete In 18th Oregon Public Links Championship at Trysting Tree GC
Corvallis, Ore (July 9, 2015) – 111 public golf course players will battle it out this weekend at Trysting Tree Golf Club in Corvallis, Ore. for the title at the 18th Oregon Public Links Championship.
Trysting Tree GC will range from a par-72, 6,881-yard layout for the championship division to 5,829 yards par-72 layout for women.
The 18th Oregon Public Links Championship will feature three divisions: Championship, Open & Women’s. Notable players in this year’s men’s field include defending champion Hogan Arey of Corvallis, Ore., who grew up playing Trysting Tree and whose father is the 20-year head professional there and 2015 Oregon Amateur Semifinalist Conner Kumpula of Albany, Ore., who plays for the OSU Beavers Men’s Golf Team, along with many others.
In the women’s division, notable players include 2008 Oregon Women’s Amateur Champion Kate Harper, who also won the PNGA Public Links Championship in 2008-2011, and Haleigh Krause, former Oregon Junior golf standout who now plays at San Diego State. Both players made it to the semifinals at the Oregon Women’s Amateur.
Entries in the Oregon Public Links Championship are open to amateur golfers who, since January 1, 2015, have been bona fide public course players and have not held a membership at any course which does not extend playing privileges to the general public or membership with any private club maintaining its own course.
Designed by Ted Robinson, ASGCA, Trysting Tree Golf Club opened in 1988 and currently serves as the home course of the OSU Beaver Men’s & Women’s Golf Teams.
