70th OGA Tournament of Champions Kicks Off 2014 Championship Season

Woodburn, Ore. – The Oregon Golf Association 2014 Championship season swings into gear with the 70th OGA Tournament of Champions this weekend at Langdon Farms Golf Club, where the best of the best will battle it out at the par-71 course in Aurora, Ore.

The Tournament of Champions is open to all OGA member clubs 2012 or 2013 men’s or women’s gross club champion, a 2012-2013 individual gross champion of an OGA Championship, performance points leaders, 2013 Junior Stroke Play & Junior Amateur Champions and 2013 OGA Tour Championship Individual & Senior gross Champions.

In a field packed with proven winners, many notable players stand are poised to win in the Men’s Division including 2013 Stroke Play & Mid-Amateur Champion Randy Mahar, 2013 US Senior Amateur Runner-Up Pat O’Donnell, 2013 Senior Amateur Champion Scott Hval, 2012 Mid-Amateur Champion David Jacobsen and  2012 Men’s Stroke Play Champion Michael Johansen.

Those positioned to contend I the Women’s Division include three-time Women’s Mid-Amateur Champion Brie Stone,  2013 Senior Amateur Champion Leilani Norman and 2013 Junior Amateur Champion Gigi Stoll who compted in the US Open in 2012 at the age of 15. Sisters in the field include Champions Haleigh & Jenny Krause who both played on the 2013 OSAA Class 6A State Champion Sheldon HS golf team.

Langdon Farms Golf Club is home to 18 holes of stunning golf designed by John Fought and Robert Cupp. Langdon Farms Golf Club opened to rave reviews in 1995 and immediately became a favorite in the Portland area. The par-71 course will play to 6,705 yards for the men and 5,598 for the women.
