85th Bob Norquist Oregon Junior Amateur Championship to Begin Monday at Eagle Crest Resort
Redmond, Ore. - The 85th edition of the Bob Norquist Oregon Junior Amateur Championship will kick off on Monday, June 22nd and run through Friday, June 26th at Eagle Crest Resort – Ridge Course in Redmond, Ore.

Both the Junior Boys and Girls titles will be up for grabs in the 85th Bob Norquist Oregon Junior Amateur Championship. Defending champions Riley Elmes (Lake Oswego, Ore.) and Gigi Stoll (Beaverton, Ore.) are 18 and ineligible to compete.
“We are extremely excited that the 85th Bob Norquist Oregon Junior Amateur Championship will be held at Eagle Crest Resort and played on the Ridge Course,” said Robyn Lorain, Director of Oregon Junior Golf. “We have an impressive group of junior golfers ready to compete and learn from this tremendous event and experience.”
Players to look for next week in the Junior Boys Division include Spencer Tibbits (Vancouver, Wash.), who recently participated in U.S. Open Sectional Qualifying for this year’s U.S. Open and tied for first in the Boys Open Division in this week’s Peter Jacobsen Junior Challenge at Trysting Tree Golf Club in Corvallis, Ore. Brian Humphreys (Washougal, Wash.), who tied for third at the Peter Jacobsen Junior Challenge, and Bryce Wortman (Klamath Falls, Ore.), who tied Tibbits for first place, were both members of Team Oregon at the 2014 Hogan Cup Matches. Jack Rodewald (Portland, Ore.) won the first Oregon Junior Golf major of 2015 earlier this month at the Centennial Junior Championship.
In the Girls Division, Jennifer Krause (Eugene, Ore.) and Amanda Elich (West Linn, Ore.) are in the field, as both made it to the semifinals in last year’s Championship Flight. Ellie Slama (Salem, Ore.) won the Girls Open Division at the Centennial Junior Championship, held earlier this month, and this week’s Peter Jacobsen Junior Challenge. Ellen Secor (Portland, Ore.) tied for second at Centennial and finished fifth at the Jacobsen Junior Challenge, while Taylor Hartley (Vancouver, Wash.) tied for second at Centennial a few weeks ago. Camille Dozois (Lake Oswego, Ore.), who won the First Flight in last year’s competition, is also in the field.
Championship flight winners in the Junior Boys (ages 16-17) and Girls Divisions (15-17) will be crowned the Oregon Junior Amateur Champions. Other divisions include the Boys Division (14-15), Intermediate Girls Division (12-14), Intermediate Boys Division (12-13) and Pee Wee Boys and Girls Divisions (8-11).
This is the first time that Eagle Crest Resort has hosted the Oregon Junior Amateur.
