BEST-OF-THE-BEST FLOCK TO LANGDON FARMS TO KICK-OFF THE 2015 CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON
Woodburn, Ore. (April 23, 2015) – Unusually warm weather makes Oregonians believe that spring will go out like a lamb, but the OGA’s finest competitors are coming in like a pack of lions as the 2015 OGA Championship Season kicks off with the 71st OGA Tournament of Champions at the challenging par-71 Langdon Farms Golf Club, located in Aurora, Ore. and taking place April 25th-26th.
The 71st OGA Tournament of Champions invites the 2013 and 2014 men’s and women’s gross club champions from OGA member clubs as well as players who won an OGA Championship in 2014 to compete for this champion-of-champion’s title.
In the men’s division, Scott Hval is back to defend his 2014 win, but he will face stiff competition against 2014 Oregon Men’s Senior Amateur Champion, Pat O’Donnell, and 2014 Junior Amateur Champion, Riley Elmes. The 2014 Oregon Senior Stroke Play Champion, Randy Mahar and his 2015 PNGA Cup Team Oregon teammates, Matt Hartley and Charlie Rice, will also be competing.
On the women’s side, 2014 Oregon Women’s Amateur Champion Gigi Stoll returns to defend her 2014 Tournament of Champions crown. Stoll’s defense won’t be uncontested, as Aram Choi, the 2013 and 2014 Women’s Stroke Play Champion, and Brie Stone, 4-time Oregon Women’s Mid-Amateur Champion and 2-time OGA Tournament of Champions winner, are vying for the championship.
Langdon Farms Golf Club is home to 18 holes of stunning golf designed by John Fought and Robert Cupp. Langdon Farms Golf Club opened to rave reviews in 1995 and immediately became a favorite in the Portland area. The par-71 course will play to 6,699 yards for the men and 5,622 for the women.
