Champions Crowned at 24th Oregon Public Links Championship

Victoria Gailey and Calvin Green won their respective Championship Gross Divisions at the 24th Oregon Public Links played July 24-25 at Heron Lakes Golf Club in Portland.

Oregon Public Links (July 24-25):

Gailey posted back-to-back rounds of 71 to finish 2-under par, a score 14 strokes better than Jessica Ponce (79-77) who finished in second place. Gailey played a final round that included three birdies on the front nine and another three on the back nine, on her way to recording 10 birdies during the 36-hole competition.

Gailey, who won the event a year ago, becomes the first female golfer to win back-to-back Oregon Public Links titles.

On the men’s side it was Green (70-73) who finished the event 1-under par, edging Seth King (71-73) by a stroke.

Green, who held the lead after day one, was 2-under par through 15 holes in Sunday's final round before faltering in the closing stretch recording bogey on the final three holes.

Eligibility for the Oregon Public Links is extended to amateur golfers who have been bonafide public course players and have not held a membership at any course which does not extend playing privileges to the general public or membership with any private club maintaining its own course.

Next up on the OGA Championships schedule is the 31st Oregon Women’s Stroke Play and the 16th Oregon Super Senior which will run simultaneously July 27-29 at Salishan Golf Links in Gleneden Beach.
