Familiar Faces Lead After Day One of 2018 Oregon Men's Stroke Play
MOLALLA, Ore. - A slew of past OGA champions and accomplished regional golfers are at the top of the leaderboard after the first day of the 66th Oregon Men's Stroke Play Championship, held July 20-22, 2018 at Arrowhead Golf Club in Molalla, Ore.
In the Open Division, 2008 Oregon Amateur champion Blake Seabaugh (Tigard, Ore.) and this year's Oregon Amateur runner-up Spencer Tibbits (Vancouver, Wash.) are tied for the lead at 4-under par. Seabaugh already has a win under his belt in 2018, winning the OGA Tournament of Champions in April. Along with his runner-up finish at the Oregon Amateur, Tibbits advanced to the semifinals of the 2018 Pacific Northwest Men's Amateur Championship earlier this month. Tibbits is a rising sophomore at Oregon State.

Philip Bagdade (Portland, Ore.), Jake O'Neal (Vancouver, Wash.) and Hunter Wescott (Portland, Ore.) are tied for third place, one shot back at 3-under par. A total of nine players finished the first round under-par in the Open Division.
The Senior Division is led by Denny Taylor (Gladstone, Ore.), the 2002 champion, after he fired a 2-under par 70 on Friday. Pat O'Donnell (Happy Valley, Ore.), winner of this event the past three years, is one shot back at 1-under par. Gregg Guernsey (Vancouver, Wash.) is in third place at even-par.
Brandon Lorain (Woodburn, Ore.) leads the Master-40 field after shooting a 1-over par 73 during Friday's first round. James Chrisman (Bend, Ore.) and Clare Langford (Bend, Ore.) are three shots back and in a tie for second place at 4-over par.
After Saturday's round, each field will be cut in half (including ties) heading into Sunday's final round.
