Four Sides Advance to 2022 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championships
Four teams advanced to the 2022 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championships at qualifiers held Monday, Sept. 20 at OGA Golf Course in Woodburn. It was the final of 13 local USGA qualifying events administered by the OGA this year.
U.S. Four-Ball Qualifier (Sept. 20):
On the men’s side it was the teams of Kevin Hodes and Tyler Kanda, and Robbie Ziegler and Zach Foushee who advanced to the national championship proper.
Hodes-Kanda shot a 9-under par 63 to win the event by one stroke. Zielger-Foushee tied with Tom Jenkins Jr. and Dustin Schmidt with scores of 8-under par 64. Ziegler and Foushee won in a playoff, while Jenks-Schmidt will serve as first alternates.
The men’s event will be held May 14-18, 2022 at Country Club of Birmingham in Alabama.
Michelle Liu and Angela Arora tied with Emily Song and Kyra Ly for the top spot at the women’s qualifier. With two teams advancing to the national championship proper, both duos finished at 5-under par and carded 67s.
The women’s event will be played in Puerto Rico April 30-May 4, 2022 at Grand Reserve Golf Club.
