Oregon Junior Golf Named 2020 Recipient of William E. Hammonds Award

Youth on Course has named Oregon Junior Golf the 2020 recipient of the William E. Hammonds Award for Excellence.

Youth on Course awards the annual William E. Hammonds Award for Excellence to an Allied Golf Association partner that has made exceptional progress in growing YOC in their state/region.

One of Youth on Course's first partners to come on board in 2014 when we had our sights set on expanding to new regions, Oregon Junior Golf has steadily increased participation over the years (including logging over 10,000 rounds at 72 locations in 2019).

Oregon Junior Golf has consistently found innovative ways to support our core purpose and expand opportunities to members, including hosting a YOC Summit of their own and raising more than $30,000 through YOC's national Hundred Hole Hike fundraising initiative.

Additionally, OJG was named one of 11 AGA partners to achieve "Gold" status with the program because of 2019 local YOC participation in Oregon and Southwest Washington. A complete list is below:

  • Northern California Golf Association
  • Georgia State Golf Association
  • Chicago District Golf Association
  • Iowa Golf Association
  • Kentucky Golf Foundation
  • Golf Association of Michigan
  • Minnesota Golf Association
  • Nebraska Golf Association
  • Oregon Golf Association (Oregon Junior Golf)
  • Utah Golf Association/Utah Golf Foundation
  • Washington Golf

Youth on Course is a national program that provides youth with access to life-changing opportunities through golf. YOC members gain access to golf for $5 or less at more than 1,200 participating courses. All Oregon Junior Golf members are automatically enrolled into the Youth on Course program.
