Nine Advance to US Junior & US Girls Junior Amateur

Oregon Junior Golf administered USGA Qualifiers for the US Junior Amateur & US Girls Junior Amateur Sunday and Monday at The OGA Golf Course in Woodburn, Ore. and Willamette Valley Country Club in Canby Oregon, respectively.
On Sunday, the US Girl's Junior Amateur saw 51 players competing for six sports and two alternates into the tournament proper, which will be held at Tulsa Country Club in Tulsa, Okla. July 20-25, 2015.
Players to qualify included Han Hsuan Yu of the People's Republic of China and Ellie Slama of Salem, Ore. with scores of two-under par 70. Ellen Secor of Portland, Ore. and Daniele Giles of Central Point, Ore. who both finished at one-under par 71. Earning the final two spots were Brooke Hamilton of Mt Roskill, Auckland, New Zealand and Bibilani Liu of Cupertino, Calif. Alternates included Usu Choi of Langley, BC and Camden Decker of Keizer, Ore.

On Monday, the US Junior Amateur saw 74 players compete for three spots and two alternate positions into the tournament proper, which will be held at Colleton River Plantation Club in Bluffton, S.C. July 20-25, 2015.
After a playoff for the final alternate spots, the players to advance in the 36-hole stroke play qualifying were: Koichiro Ishika of Kakogawa, Japan with a score of 71-70 141 to take medalist honors. SahithTheegala of Chino Hills, Calif. finished with a score of 73-69 142 and Erc Ghim of Glendale, Ariz. finished with a 72-71 143 to earn the final qualifying spot. Alternates are Issei Tanabe of Huntington Beach, Calif. and Cole Chrisman of Bend, Ore.
