Nineteen Advance to 108th Oregon Amateur After First Qualifier

BEAVERTON, ORE. - Nineteen players advanced to the championship proper after the first Oregon Amateur qualifier took place on Sunday, June 4th at RedTail Golf Course in Beaverton, Ore.

Ryan Schmidlin (Hillsboro, Ore.) earned medalist honors after firing a 1-over par 73. Schmidlin attended Valley Catholic School in Beaverton and now plays collegiately at Concordia University Texas in Austin, Texas. In second place at 2-over par at Sunday's qualifier was Cole Chrisman (Bend, Ore.), who's committed to playing collegiate golf at the University of Idaho starting next fall.

Eight-over par (80) turned out to be the cut line at Sunday's qualifier. Two players - Adam Harrington (Portland, Ore.) and Logan Davis (McMinnville, Ore.) - tied for the last two qualifying spots and will play in this year's Oregon Amateur.

The next Oregon Amateur qualifier will take place Tuesday, June 6th at Stone Creek Golf Club in Oregon City. The 108th Oregon Amateur will commence June 20-25, 2017 at The Oregon Golf Club in West Linn, Ore.
