U Club - Corvallis Student Leadership Team Announced for 2017/18 School Year

Four students from Oregon State University are taking on leadership roles for U Club - Corvallis. U Club, launched in July of 2016, is a partnership between the OGA and golf courses in college communities around the state. U Club's goal is to make golf more affordable and accessible for students, allowing students to play for just $7 for 9-holes and $10 for 18-holes.

This year's student leadership team will add some exciting new features to the program in Corvallis, while also reaching out to other U Club regions (Eugene, Portland, Salem). The squad is working on establishing U Club more prominently in the Corvallis college community, setting up social and competitive opportunities, as well as using social media to help student golfers link up. More updates will be coming soon, but in the meantime, let's meet the leadership team:

Best Golf Memory: My errant tee shot went so far that it accidentally nailed a spectator. He was ok, thank goodness! However, he did get a gnarly monkey bump on his chest. He was a champ!
Matt McElreath

Year in School: Junior (transfer student)

Best Golf Memory: For my 21st birthday my dad came up to Portland to celebrate with me and play some golf.  I have always dreamed of the day that I would beat him since he is a great golfer.  We played Glendoveer West, not to difficult of a course, and I found my swing that morning and beat him by 2 strokes shooting my personal low of 80.
