OGA Competitors Highlight 2018 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Field

TEQUESTA, FLA. - Three sides including OGA players and members will be competing in the upcoming 2018 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship, held May 19-23 at Jupiter Hills Club in Tequesta, Fla.

A total of six competitors from Oregon will be playing this weekend. The sides of Riley Elmes (Lake Oswego, Ore.) and Billy Pollock (Eugene, Ore.), JC Riter (Portland, Ore.) and Blake Seabaugh (Tigard, Ore.), and brothers Chris Dukeminier (Portland, Ore.) and Jack Dukeminier (Beaverton, Ore.). It's an impressive group of players, featuring past Oregon Amateur champions and former event winners in the junior and adult circuit.

Elmes and Pollock are college teammates at Loyola Marymount University -- Elmes recently concluded his junior season, while Pollock finished his college playing career this spring. Elmes is a former Oregon Junior Golf standout; he won the 2014 Oregon Junior Amateur and Oregon Junior Stroke Play Championships. He also was victorious at the 2015 OGA Tournament of Champions, and was a semifinalist at the 2017 Oregon Amateur Championship. Pollock had a successful 2017 OGA season, finishing T6 at the Oregon Men's Stroke Play and advancing to the round of 32 at the Oregon Amateur.

Riter and Seabaugh competed in last year's Oregon Amateur Four-Ball Championship, advancing to the quarterfinals. Riter qualified for the 2015 U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship, while Seabaugh is a former Oregon Amateur champion back in 2008. Seabaugh advanced to the semifinals of last year's Oregon Amateur, and earlier in 2018, won the first OGA Championship of the year, the OGA Tournament of Champions.

The Dukeminier brothers have both had successful OGA results the past few years. Chris competed in the Inaugural Oregon Amateur Four-Ball in 2016, advancing to the semifinals with playing partner Will Snow. In 2017, his best finish came in the Oregon Men's Stroke Play Championship, where he finished T11. Jack is a past Oregon Amateur champion, winning in 2011. He recently won the 2016 OGA Tournament of Champions, and last year was victorious at both the Oregon Mid-Amateur Championship and the OGA Men's Team Championship, winning the individual title.
