King, Tennant Miss Cut at Inaugural U.S. Senior Women's Open

WHEATON, Ill. -- Two Oregon residents missed the cut on Friday at the inaugural U.S. Women's Open Championship, held this week at historic Chicago Golf Club in Wheaton, Ill.

Lara Tennant (Portland, Ore.) and Debby King (Eugene, Ore.) both qualified for the first-ever U.S. Women's Open during a qualifier held last month. Tennant was the 2017 OGA Women's Golfer of the Year, and has won two OGA events so far in 2018 -- the Oregon Women's Mid-Amateur and Oregon Senior Women's Amateur Championships. King is a local LPGA Professional and the co-owner of the Kingdom of Golf, a golf academy housed at Emerald Valley Golf Club & Resort in Creswell, Ore.

Tennant fired scores of 85-77 - 162 (+16), while King shot two-consecutive 85s to finish at 24-overp par. During Tennant's first round on Thursday, she recorded the first hole-in-one in the tournament's history on the par-3 7th hole.
