Dukeminier, Ganz, Ziegler to Represent OGA at 2018 Morse Cup

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. – Jack Dukeminier (Beaverton, Ore.), David Ganz (Portland, Ore.) and Robbie Ziegler (Portland, Ore.) will represent the OGA at the 2018 Morse Cup, held concurrently with the 52nd Pacific Coast Amateur Championship at The Olympic Club in San Francisco, Calif. from July 24-27.

The Morse Cup will be held the first two days of the Pacific Coast Amateur. The top two scores from the three players on each team will count toward the team score.

Dukeminier is a former Oregon Amateur champion (2011) who won two OGA events in 2017 – the Oregon Mid-Amateur Championship and the individual title at the OGA Men’s Team Championship. The former University of Oregon golfer also earned the No. 7 seed at the 2017 Oregon Amateur, advancing to the round of 32. In 2018, Dukeminier has finished third at the Oregon Mid-Amateur and fourth at the OGA Tournament of Champions. He also qualified and played in the 2018 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball with his brother, Chris.

Ganz is a recent graduate of Gonzaga University, where he had an impressive career wrap-up in the spring. The Portland native has had a stellar start to 2018, advancing to the quarterfinals of the Oregon Amateur Championship and finishing T2 at the 2018 Washington Open. Ganz also led this year’s Oregon Open after the first round. In 2017, Ganz advanced to the round of 16 at the Oregon Amateur.

Ziegler is coming off perhaps the biggest victory of his career last month at the 2018 Oregon Amateur Championship. The former teammate of Dukeminier at the University of Oregon also finished second at the 2018 OGA Tournament of Champions, and earned a top-10 finish at this year’s Oregon Mid-Amateur. In 2017, Ziegler finished T3 at the Pacific Northwest Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship.

The OGA has won the Morse cup four times, with its last win coming in 1999.

About the Pacific Coast Amateur Championship
The Pacific Coast Amateur Championship is one of the oldest and most prestigious amateur golf championships in North America. The first tournament was held on the links of San Francisco Golf Club at The Presidio in 1901. After being played until 1911, The Pacific Coast Amateur then ceased to exist, only to be reconstituted at Seattle Golf Club in 1967. Today, 15 member Pacific Rim golf associations comprise the Pacific Coast Golf Association.

Held on an annual basis since 1967, the Pacific Coast Amateur Championship boasts a rich history of showcasing some of the most talented golfers in the United States and Canada.

Past champions of the Pacific Coast Amateur who have gone on to successful professional careers include PGA Tour winners Aaron Wise (2015), Billy Mayfair (1987, 1988), Jason Gore (1997) and Ben Crane (1998) as well as Web.com Tour winners and brothers Michael Putnam (2004) and Andrew Putnam (2010).
