Final Day Set for Monday at 2018 Oregon Amateur Four-Ball

REDMOND, Ore. – The final day of the 3rd Oregon Amateur Four-Ball Championship will take place on Monday, August 27 at Juniper Golf Course in Redmond, Ore.

The Open division will play semifinal matches in the morning before the championship match in the afternoon. The Women’s division will play its championship match in the afternoon, while the Senior Men will finish a semifinal match that was suspended due to darkness before teeing off in the final.

The Open semifinals feature two premier matches. In the first semifinal, medalists Jim Dunlap and Jay Poletiek (Tigard/Happy Valley, Ore.) will play two-time champion Trevor Harding (Portland, Ore.) and his partner Robbie Ziegler (Portland, Ore.), 2018 Oregon Amateur champion.

The second semifinal includes two sides representing Central Oregon. James Chrisman and Cameron Mitchell (Bend, Ore.), the No. 18 seed, will play the side of Ryan Duval and Clare Langford (Bend, Ore.). Langford advanced to the finals in last year’s Oregon Four-Ball with partner Ryan DeCastilhos (Bend, Ore.), who Langford and Duval defeated in today’s quarterfinals.

The Women’s final features a trio of current or former Portland State Vikings. Head Women’s Golf Coach Kailin Downs (Oregon City, Ore.) and her partner, Amy Anderson (Bend, Ore.), will look to win a second-consecutive title as they will play the team of Krissy Peterson (Canby, Ore.) and Hannah Swanson (Forest Grove, Ore.). Peterson, the 2016 Oregon Women’s Amateur champion, played for Portland State from 2015-2017, while Swanson played one year in 2017-18.

In the Senior Men division, one final side is set, while another match has yet to finish its semifinal match. The side of Ron Hop and Alan Plusquellec (Dayton/Sherwood, Ore.) beat defending champions Byron Patton and Jack Schneider (Tigard/Oregon City, Ore.), 3&2 in the first semifinal. In the second semi, Phil Barricklow and Kirk Schwerzler (Vancouver/Camas, Wash.) and the team of Mark Adams and Douglas Little (Portland, Ore.) will resume their match on No. 17 Monday morning.

The Championship flight in the Open division will tee off in semifinal matches Monday morning at 7:50 and 8:00 AM. Championship matches for all divisions will begin at 12:30 PM.
