Tennant, Wicks in Round of 32 at U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur
Defending champion Lara Tennant registered a 1-up victory over Susan West while Roseburg’s Anita Wicks won 4&3 over Stacey Arnold in the Round of 64 Monday at the U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur Championship played at Cedar Rapids Country Club in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Tennant, the No. 5 seed from Portland, advances to face 28th seed Maggie Leef. Wicks, the No. 27 seed, will face sixth-seeded Judith Kyrinis. The round of 32 and round of 16 will be played on Tuesday.
Over at the U.S. Senior Amateur played at Old Chatham Golf Club in Durham, N.C., local product Bradley Karns (Vancouver, Wash.) advanced to the round of 64 of the men’s national championship before falling to Keith Decker 3&2.
