Parent/Child, Men's Stroke Play Next Up on Championships Schedule

The 2020 OGA Championships schedule resumes this week with the 70th OGA Parent/Child Chapman (July 18-19) and continues next week with the 68th Oregon Men’s Stroke Play Championship (July 24-26).

Upcoming OGA Championships Coverage:

Salem Golf Club once again plays host to the Parent/Child. The event, a modified Chapman stroke play, includes two separate days of competition with one group playing on Saturday, July 18 and another competing on Sunday, July 19.

Each Parent/Child participant plays a shot from the teeing ground then switches to play their partner’s ball for the second shot. After the second shot, partners select the ball with which they wish to score, and play that ball alternately to complete the hole.

The Oregon Men's Stroke Play Championship will be played July 24-26 at Salishan Golf Links in Gleneden Beach. Entries, which have closed, were limited to golfers with Handicap Indexes of 5.0 or less.

The event includes a 54-hole stroke play competition with a cut to the low half of the field (and ties in each division) after two rounds of play.

A year ago on the Ridge Course at Eagle Crest Resort in the 67th edition of the men's stroke play, it was Kyosuke Hara, Denny Taylor and Jay Poletiek who won their respective divisions .
