OGA Announces Recipients of 2020 Annual Awards
The Oregon Golf Association presented its 2020 Annual Awards at the association’s Annual Meeting, which was held virtually on Monday, October 19.
The Annual Awards are given to members, clubs, PGA Professionals and more for their commitment and diligence in working with the OGA, with their community and with other allied golf organizations.
Additionally, the OGA Championships Golfer of the Year awards were handed out. That annual recognition is voted on by the OGA Tournament Committee, a select group of OGA staff members, volunteers and liaisons.
The following is a list of award descriptions and winners for 2020:

OGA Member of the Year: Evelyn Johnston (Arrowhead GC – Milwaukie, Ore.) – This award recognizes an OGA member for outstanding contributions to their community, the game of golf, accomplishments on the golf course or their involvement with the OGA.

OGA Club of the Year: Columbia Edgewater Women's Club (Portland, Ore.) – This award recognizes an OGA member club (or clubs) for outstanding contributions to the game of golf, the community or the OGA.

Superintendent of the Year: Kyle Watt (Awbrey Glenn GC – Bend, Ore.) – This award recognizes a member of the Oregon Golf Course Superintendents Association (OGCSA) for outstanding contributions to the environment, the game of golf, the community or the OGA.

Handicap Chair of the Year: Charlene Moeckel (Broken Top Club – Bend, Ore.) – This award recognizes a Certified Handicap Chairperson of an OGA Member Club who has demonstrated extraordinary diligence in management and oversight of both the Handicap System and GHIN.

Facility of the Year: OGA Golf Course (Woodburn, Ore.) – This award recognizes an OGA facility for outstanding contributions to the game of golf, the community or the OGA.

Club Executive of the Year: Tom Graves (Salishan GC – Gleneden Beach, Ore.) – This award recognizes exceptional leadership by a General Manager, Clubhouse Manager, Owner/Operator, PGA Professional or other similar position of a facility with an OGA member club.

Women's Golfer of the Year: Amanda Jacobs (Waverley CC – Portland, Ore.) – This award is voted on and handed to the top women's amateur golfer from Oregon and Southwest Washington.

Men's Golfer of the Year: Robbie Ziegler (Redtail GC, Langdon Farms GC – Tualatin, Ore.) – This award is voted on and handed to the top men's amateur golfer from Oregon and Southwest Washington.
