Two Teams Qualify for 2021 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball
Qualifying for the 2021 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball was played Monday, Oct. 19 at Oswego Lake CC. The duos of Sean Kato / Jackson Lake and Kyle Crawford / Kevin Rei tied for first place at 8-under par.
U.S. Four-Ball Qualifier:
Both teams advance to the 2021 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball which will be played May 22-26, 2021 at Chambers Bay Golf Course and The Home Course.
Kato posted five birdies, while Lake registered four, during the 18-hole qualifying event where they recorded par or better on each hole. Kato and Lake alternated their good holes, only once posting birdie on the same hole.
Crawford and Rei each had four birdies, none of which came on the same hole. The lone bogey blemish on the scorecard came on Hole No. 4.
Just missing out on qualifying were the tandems of Adam Harrington / Jordan Sweet (-7) and J.C. Riter / Blake Seabaugh (-7), teams that finished as first and second alternates respectively.
This was the first and only USGA Qualifying event in 2020 administered by the OGA. All other competitions were cancelled due to COVID-19.
