Kyra Ly and Collin Hodgkinson were named OGA Junior Golf Players of the Year for their outstanding performances during the 2021 campaign.

Ly, from Portland, has won OGA Junior Girls Player of the Year three consecutive times also taking home titles in 2019 and 2020. 

She won two OGA Junior Major Tournaments and tallied the second-most team points (500) during the 2021 season. Ly rose up the national rankings to No. 147 in Junior Scoreboard Ranking and No. 362 in Rolex AJGA Ranking.

She tallied back-to-back major tournament wins in June with Girls Open 12-18 Division titles at the Oregon Junior Stroke Play and Bob Norquist Oregon Junior Amateur. Ly finished 2-under par to win the stroke play competition by a pair of strokes. At the junior amateur, Ly finished second in stroke play qualifying and then took the two-seed into match play where she won three consecutive on her way to the crown.

Ly also finished second at the Portland City Bob Allard Memorial, qualified as solo medalist at the U.S. Girls’ Junior Amateur Qualifying and qualified for the Junior Girls America Cup team. 

Hodgkinson, from Beaverton, won a pair of OGA Junior Major Tournaments en route to this year’s award. It is the first time that Hodgkinson has received player of the year recognition.

He posted back-to-back victories in the Boys Open Divisions during June, first at the Peter Jacobsen Junior Challenge followed by the Oregon Junior Stroke Play. At the Peter Jacobsen Junior Challenge he finished 8-under par to win the event by five strokes. A week later he won by four strokes at the Oregon Junior Stroke Play.

Hodgkinson finished tied for third in team points (367.5). He qualified for the Junior Boys America Cup Team, and also participated in the Eddie Hogan Cup Team Matches.

During the season he moved into No. 336 in Junior Scoreboard Ranking and No. 453 in Rolex AJGA Rankings.
