Cook, Harper, Stone to Represent Team Oregon at 2015 USGA Women's State Team Championship

WOODBURN, ORE. – Rosie Cook (Bend, Ore.), Kate Harper (Portland, Ore.) and Brie Stone (Veneta, Ore.) will represent Team Oregon and the OGA at the 2015 USGA Women’s State Team Championship, held Sept. 10th-12th at Dalhousie Golf Club in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Beginning tomorrow, 50 teams of three women each from around the country will compete against each other, with the lowest two scores from each team being counted each day.

The team representing Oregon is full of experience and impressive golfers who have been successful in the state and the region for numerous years.

Cook, 44, recently finished in fourth place in the 2015 Oregon Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship, and earlier this summer made it to the round-of-16 at the Oregon Women’s Amateur Championship. In 2014, Cook started her year with a T-2nd finish at the OGA Tournament of Champions, while also finishing in fifth place at the 2014 Oregon Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship and making it to the quarterfinals of that year’s Oregon Women’s Amateur Championship.

Harper, 27, has had a successful 2015, winning this year’s Oregon Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship in August. She also was a quarterfinalist at the Oregon Women’s Amateur Championship, and finished in 4th at both the OGA Tournament of Champions and the Oregon Women’s Public Links Championship. In 2013, Harper advanced to the round-of-16 at the U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship.

Stone, 34, has a pair of second place finishes on her resume in 2015 – finishing in a tie for second at the 2015 Oregon Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship, and earning second place at this year’s Oregon Women’s Stroke Play Championship. Stone also finished in third place at the OGA Tournament of Champions in April. From 2010-14, Stone won five consecutive Oregon Women’s Mid-Amateur titles, and in 2014, Stone was runner-up in the PNGA Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship.
