Bandon Dunes Golf Resort Wins 88th OGA Men's Team Championship
BEND, ORE. – The team from Bandon Dunes Golf Resort won the 88th OGA Men’s Team Championship on Sunday, held Sept. 19-20 at Bend Golf & Country Club in Bend, Ore.
Individually, three players tied for the low 36-hole total. Adam Burlison (Bandon Dunes Golf Resort), Trevor Harding (Riverside Golf & Country Club) and John-Michael Pilot (Camas Meadows Golf Club) all finished at even par 144 for the two-day event.
Bandon Dunes used two steady and consistent days of play to capture its second title in three years, after winning its first OGA team title in 2013. The team of Adam Araneo, Burlison, Trevor Hiebing and Tim Tucker finished at 440 (+8) for the weekend, four shots ahead of the club from the host site, Bend Golf & Country Club (Tim Cecil, Charlie Rice, Scott Holmberg, Jeff Ward), who shot 444 (+12) and earned second place. Riverside Golf & Country Club (Henry Emmerson, Harding, Jay Poletiek, Jake Wagner) finished in third place at +14 (446) for the championship.
Individually, Pilot used a strong second day to earn co-medalist with Burlison and Harding. At one point 3-under par on Saturday, Pilot bogeyed six of the last seven holes to finish at 75 (+5) after the first round. Pilot shot a 3-under par 69 on Sunday, holding steady with only two bogies during his round. Harding also finished strong on Sunday, firing a 2-under par 70 after a 74 (+2) on Saturday. Burlison tallied four birdies on his second nine on Sunday, including a birdie on the par-5 9th hole to earn co-medalist honors.
Poletiek, Scott Larsen (Emerald Valley Golf Club) and Brandon Lorain (OGA Players Club) tied for fourth place, one shot back after all players shot 145 (+1) over the weekend.
