OGA Adds Two Members To Executive Committee
Woodburn, Ore. (April 3, 2015) – The Oregon Golf Association recently announced two new members will join its Executive Committee - Zach Hall of Bend, Ore., and Travis Schoen of Beaverton, Ore.
Hall (top right), a freelance writer and editor living in Bend who specializes in Central Oregon Golf, will bring additional representation and enthusiasm to Central Oregon. Before going full-time freelance earlier this year, he spent 16 years as a news reporter & editor, including eight years as The (Bend) Bulletin’s golf writer. Hall was the 2008 recipient of the Dale Johnson Media Award, which recognizes a member of the media for significant contributions in promoting the game of golf. Hall loves biking and camping around the Cascade Lakes with his wife Janell and daughter Aubrey.
Schoen (bottom right) is the President of NWGolfGuys, Inc., which was named the 2013 OGA Club of the Year, and has grown his group from 25 of his closest friends to more than 600 annual members since 2007 and brings a wealth of experience in sales & marketing, specifically in the online realm. Schoen is an avid Chicago Cubs and baseball fan.
“Both Zach and Travis bring a great deal of enthusiasm as well as unique skill sets that will benefit the OGA at a period of time that is critical for growth,” said OGA CEO Barb Trammell. “While Zach’s background in media relations and journalism will help provide insight into the enhancement of our brand, Travis’s experience in growing the OGA’s largest associate club will afford us additional opportunities to help our existing clubs elevate their own memberships”.
The OGA Executive Committee guides the daily & long-term direction of the Association, meeting quarterly and at the Annual Meeting of the Board of Directors in October. Executive Committee service is a three-year term with a suggested three-term maximum. Over the last 18 months, the OGA CEO, staff & Executive Committee have undergone a comprehensive strategic planning process that will further guide the direction of the association.
