Seven Golfers Advance to Next Stage of 2022 U.S. Open Qualifying

Seven golfers advanced to the next stage of qualifying for the 2022 U.S. Open Monday and Tuesday at The Oregon Golf Club. Mateo Fuenmayor and Yuki Moriyama finished as co-medalists at 1-under par.

U.S. Open Local Qualifier (May 2):

Fuenmayor, from Beaverton, recorded four birdies which were offset by three bogeys during the 18-hole qualifier. Moriyama, from Las Vegas, finished with an eagle, three birdies, two bogeys and a double bogey for a share of first place.

Daniel Miernicki, Lake Jackson, Owen Avrit, Spencer Tibbits and Tye Gabriel joined the co-medalists in advancing to sectional qualifying.

RJ Manke and Edwin Yi are first and second alternate respectively.

There were 116 players who entered the local qualifier. Final stage qualifying is scheduled for June 6 at Pronghorn Resort (Nicklaus Course) in Bend.
