Several Players Qualify for U.S. Mid-Am, U.S. Women's Mid-Am
Local qualifying for the 2021 U.S. Mid-Amateur and U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur championships were conducted Aug. 23 at Portland Golf Club. Five men’s players and three women’s players qualified for the national championships proper.
U.S. Mid-Am Qualifiers (Aug. 23):
There was a four-way tie at the top in the men’s qualifier at 2-under par, with Arnell Garza, Taylor Klopp, Hunter Wescott and Adam Harrington posting 70s. Jay Poletiek also qualified after carding a 1-under par 71.
On the women’s side it was Victoria Fallgren (75), Jacqueline Bendrick (76) and Hana Ku (78) who posted qualifying results.
The U.S. Mid-Amateur will take place Sept. 25-30 at Sankaty Head Golf Club in Siasconset, Mass. The U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur will be played at Berkeley Hall Club in Bluffton, S.C., during the same week. The final local qualifying events on the 2021 USGA schedule are for the U.S. Amateur Four-Ball and U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball which will occur Sept. 20 at Creekside Golf Club in Salem.
