Slama, Taylor Lead Respective Fields After Day One of Women's Stroke Play, Super Senior
BEND, Ore. - Ellie Slama (Salem, Ore.) leads the Oregon Women's Stroke Play and Denny Taylor (Gladstone, Ore.) leads the Oregon Super Senior after day one of both championships concluded Tuesday at Broken Top Club in Bend, Ore.

The second and final round of each competition will be held on Wednesday, August 15.
Slama, the 2018 Oregon Women's Amateur champion, fired a first-round 69 (-3) to finish as the only player in the field under par. Her teammate at Oregon State, Mari Nishiura (Corvallis, Ore.), and rising senior at George Fox University, Janelle Decker (Tualatin, Ore.), sit in a tie for second place at even-par.
The Senior Women's Stroke Play field is led by four-time winner Anita Wicks (Roseburg, Ore.), who fired a 1-over par 73 on Tuesday and leads Ginny Burkey (Eugene, Ore.) by two shots going into the final round. Marcia Fisher (Molalla, Ore.) is in third place at 8-over par.
In the Super Senior, Taylor finished as the only player under par after firing a 71 (-1) on Tuesday. He leads Carey Watson (Bend, Ore.) by one shot. Earlier this year, Watson won the Pacific Northwest Super Senior title.
Stein Swenson (Bend, Ore.) is in third place at 2-over par.
The Women's Super Senior competition is led by Cindy Anderson (Eugene, Ore.), who takes a five-shot lead going into Wednesday after shooting a 4-over par 76 during the first round. Two-time defending champion Nettie Morrison (Bend, Ore.) and Carolyn Turner (Medford, Ore.) are in a tie for second place, shooting 81 (+9) on Tuesday.
