Three Tie for Low Score Honors as 23 Advance to Oregon Amateur

WOODBURN, ORE. - Three players led the field with under par rounds, as 23 more golfers advanced to the 107th Oregon Amateur after qualifying was held Saturday at the OGA Golf Course in Woodburn, Ore.

Jérémie Eloy (Portland, Ore.), Montana Frame (Reedsport, Ore.) and Bob Harrington (Portland, Ore.) all shot the low score of qualifying, firing 70 (-2) across the board. After a scorecard playoff, Harrington was awarded with medalist honors, due to his outstanding back nine of 32 (-4).

Harrington began his round 2-over after four holes, and steadied his front nine by playing the last five holes at even par. However, on the back nine, he put on a show, birdieing the 11th, 12th and 13th holes and finishing his round with a birdie on the par-4 18th.

Eddie Abellar (Vancouver, Wash.) earned fourth place with a 1-under par 71, while four players shot even par on Saturday: Braeden Campbell (Washougal, Wash.), Alex Lee (West Linn, Ore.), David Murphy (Rogue River, Ore.) and Charles Sitton V (West Linn, Ore.).

Six-over (78) ended up the cut line, with an exact 23 players advancing to this month's Oregon Amateur Championship, held June 20-25 at Black Butte Ranch - Glaze Meadow in Black Butte Ranch, Ore.

The third and final Oregon Amateur qualifier will be held Tuesday, June 7th at Stone Creek Golf Club in Oregon City, Ore.
