Under-Par Rounds Highlight Round One of the Klamath Basin Junior
Klamath Falls, OR – Six under-par rounds highlighted the first round of the Klamath Basin Junior, hosted by Running Y Ranch Resort.
In the Boys Open 14-17 Division, just a day after winning the Southern Oregon Junior, Craig Ronne came out hot, shooting a 68 and going bogey-free until the 18th hole. Not to be outdone, Benjamin Gruher matched that total of 4-under-par to end Round 1 of the Klamath Basin Junior tied for first. Also shooting under par rounds were Brian Humphreys and Reese Fisher, each shooting 2-under-par, and Spencer McLaughlin, who ended the day with a total of 1-under-par.
In the Girls Open 12-17 Division, Haley Greb ended the day with a score of even-par, helped by four birdies throughout the round. Greb is closely trailed by Taylor Hartley, who finished with a round of 3-over-par, and Victoria Gailey, who ended with a score of 5-over-par.
The Junior Boys 16-17 Division is led by another under-par round, this one by Zach Henley, who totaled a score of 2-under-par. Henley is trailed by Dylan Henry, who ended with a total of 4-over-par, as well as Casey Spencer, Reese Lam, and Will Jones, each scoring rounds of 6-over-par.
In the Girls 15-17 Division, Karsyn Rushing leads the field by 15 strokes after a total of 15-over-par. She is trailed by Belle Vest and Taylor Tarshis.
After firing a round of 7-over-par, Luke Simoneau leads the Boys 14-15 Division.
Baylee Hammericksen leads the Intermediate Girls 12-14 Division after a round of 7-over-par. Hammericksen is trailed by Olivia Venderby, who finished with a total of 11-over-par, and Kaylee Wu, who finished with a total of 13-over-par.
In the Intermediate Boys 12-13 Division, Brody Marconi ended his round with a birdie to total a round of 4-over-par. Marconi is closely trailed by Brandon Eyre, who ended the day 5-over-par, as well as Johnny Ward and Jacob Tarkany, who each ended the day 7-over-par.
In the PeeWee Divisions, Arthur Venderby leads the Boys 10-11 Division after shooting a round of 1-over-par. Riley Hammericksen leads the Girls 10-11 Division after a round of 6-over-par. Jacinda Lee leads the Girls 8-9 Division after a round of 8-over-par.
