Vaughn shot an opening-round 74 and followed that up with an even par 72 on Tuesday to edge the field by a stroke.

After opening her final round with eight consecutive pars, Vaughn faltered with double bogey on the ninth hole to make the turn at 2-over par. But she responded by going 2-under on the back nine – including clutch birdies at Holes No. 16 and 18 – to take the women’s title.

Victoria Gailey (75-72) and Baylee Hammericksen (73-74) finished tied for second at 3-over par. Kennedy Swan (73-77), who finished alone in fourth place, recorded a tournament-best seven birdies over the two rounds.

Tennant, coming off last week’s win at the Oregon Senior Women’s Amateur, cruised to an 11-stroke victory in the senior women’s division.

She posted rounds of 76 and 71 to finish the tournament a 3-over par. Her final round included birdies on Holes No. 5 and 16 – a pair of par 4s – and was the only below par effort of the tournament regardless of division.

Anita Wicks (81-77) and Leilani Norman (81-79) finished third and fourth respectively.

Over at the 15th Oregon Super Senior Championship, Pat O'Donnell took the Jack Nicklaus Flight (ages 65-67) shooting even par over the two-day event. He opened play Monday with a 2-over par 74, then shot 2-under on Tuesday with a round that included six birdies. Bob Harrington (74-73) finished second at 3 over, while Denny Taylor (75-73) finished third at 4 over.

Other winners of flights with gross scoring included Sam Spicher (75-74) who won the Arnold Palmer Flight (ages 68-71) and Gaylord Davis (74-69) who finished atop the Byron Nelson Flight (72+)

In the women's division at the 15th Oregon Super Senior Championship, Rusty Beckel was victorious in the Patty Berg Flight (ages 60-66) after carding rounds of 83 and 85. In the Babe Zaharias Flight (67+) it was Carolyn Turner (88-86) and Susan Badders (86-88) who split the title.

The OGA’s next championship competition is the 23rd Oregon Public Links Championship scheduled for July 11-12 at Trysting Tree Golf Club in Corvallis.
