Ziegler, O'Donnell and Ly Take Titles at OGA Tournament of Champions

Robbie Ziegler, Pat O’Donnell and Kyra Ly recorded victories at the 76th playing of the OGA Tournament of Champions. This year’s event, a 36-hole stroke play competition, was held at Eagle Crest Resort and played on the Ridge Course.

Tournament of Champions:

Ziegler (69-68) posted 7-under par for the tournament and was one of two players to be in red figures for both rounds. He won by three strokes over Hunter Wescott (69-71) and Philip Bagdade (66-74), who tied for second a 4-under par. Sam Renner took fourth a 3-under par (66-75).

It was a three-peat for O’Donnell (67-75), the two-time defending champion, who shot 2-under par to again win the competition. Scot Hval (73-72) finished three strokes back in second place.

Ly (70-72), who finished the event at 2-under par, birdied her last two holes in Sunday’s final round to edge Lara Tennant (74-69) for the women’s title. Tennant fired a 3-under par 69 to narrow Ly’s lead but finished 1-under for the competition. Mary Scott Wolfe (71-74) and Victoria Gailey (72-73) finished tied for third at 1-over.

The OGA Championship schedule resumes in June with qualifying events for the 112th Oregon Amateur Championship. Deadline to enter is June 9.
